This is only a selection of the innumerable ski tour options possible on the vast Dachstein plateau. This selection however cannot replace a good preparation and careful planning of your ski tour.
Safety Tips:
Individual designing of all tour options possible. A guide is strongly recommended to those lacking experience and/or not familiar with the trails.
Even though the Dachstein plateau is easily accessible by cable car, bear in mind that trekking and skiing is in high Alpine terrain. Always check the weather forecast since good weather and high visibility are indispensable for all ski touring. Don’t forget the basic tools of avalanche rescue such as transceiver, probe, shovel, first-aid kit and mobile phone! Most tour options require ski touring equipment and skins whereas the Dachstein glacier crossing is possible with alpine ski equipment and snowboards.
